GOALS FOR 2013

Happy New Year to each and every one of you! I hope you have all had a lovely start to 2013! I celebrated up in Verbier with David and a few friends. On the 1st after a late breakfast, we all hiked up to a restaurant called La Marmotte and the sledged all the way down. It was the perfect start to a new year - good company, good food, lots of laughter, tons of photos, fresh air and plenty of exercise.

As we start a new year and set the calendar back to 01.01, it is natural to start thinking about the year that passed and the things we would like to accomplish by this time next year. Inspired by this post, I have set a few goals for 2013.

1. Get running. For most of my teenage years I ran almost every single day. I used to love running down by the lake and would run up to 10km a day. When I started university and working at the restaurant I was so exhausted that I couldn't keep it up. This year I am determined to get going again starting by signing up for the 20km run in April.

2. Make macaroons once a month. I have this idea that making macaroons at home is the biggest pastry challenge. In order to make perfect macaroons I am determined to make a batch a month and of course share the challenges I face and recipes of any successes.

3. Read more classics. This idea is spurred by one of my best friends. She recently set a goal to read more classics starting with novels like Pride and Prejudice and The Great Gatsby. I am determined to read at least a classic book every 2 months starting with Wuthering Heights.

4. Post regularly. This one is for you. I am so grateful for you, my readers, and people often request more regular posts. Although this is not something I can promise before finishing school in July, by the end of 2013 I would like to reach 5 posts a week.

What do you think of the challenges? Have you got any New Year's resolutions? What are your goals for 2013?

  1. Is this post a little bit inspired by A Beautiful Mess's 4 little goals? Whether inspired by ABM or not, I like the idea of a handful of goals. That makes it easier for you to accomplish and to remain your focus. I wish you the best of success! May the odds be ever in your favor ;)

    Happy new year xoxo

  9. happy new year sofia! great resolutions. I identify with all of them, really, used to run a lot, and used to read a lot more than I now do. Funnily, it's also my last year of uni, so I guess it really is the hectic lifestyle of uni that has really changed us huh. unfortunately can't do 2. though, I must be one out of a thousand out there who really really cannot bring myself to like macaroons ;) oh well, thanks for droppign by my blog, and happy 2013 to you too ! x
