DIY STUDDED SCRAPBOOK

I have the awful habit of hoarding magazine cut outs which results in piles and piles of pages torn out of magazines including outfit inspiration, images I love, home decor ideas, makeup or colour palettes that attract me and much, much more (believe me). I have also recently started trying to keep track of all the ideas I have for blog posts so I decided to compile it into a personalised sketch book. Most of my sketch books have collage or painted covers but I wanted to do something a little bit different this time. It took about half an hour and I'm quite happy with the result.

All you need is: a hardback sketch book, a pencil, a ruler, a picture (I chose this picture from this photo session), transparent sticky-back plastic, brass fasteners, glue and a small drill.

Use a pencil and ruler to mark on the boarder of your photo where you would like the "studs", making sure they are evenly spaced. Carefully cover the picture with sticky-back plastic, centre the picture in the middle of the book (use the ruler to help) and glue in place. Take care while using the drill to drill holes through both the picture and the cover of the book - you can drill onto a piece of flat wood or just hold the cover tight and drill through. Watch your fingers and make sure to keep the drill perpendicular to the cover. Push the brass fasteners through the holes and fold them over at the back. Et voilà you have a totally personalised studded sketchbook!
